Josh recommends the book, "A Gospel Primer," a podcast episode on how to over come anxiety and depression, and a free audiobook on how to love other believers with different politics.

A new Recommended Resource post is up today on the GBC Blog.

A book recommendation from Dan Stump on the GBC blog today.

We are bombarded with information, and it is challenging to sort through and know what we should be digesting. For a couple of months, we have been talking about how best we can lead and shepherd one another to share the mind of Christ, the heart of Christ, and display the actions of Christ. We’ve decided that one way to help us grow as disciples and as a church is by restarting this GBC blog.

The topic of racial injustice comes up a lot these days. This issue and the tension surrounding it are not new in our country or in the world, but things have intensified again in the past several weeks since George Floyd was killed. We are all experiencing and processing these things differently, but what unites us as Christians is our identity in Jesus and our calling to walk in a manner worthy of the gospel. We seek to filter our thoughts about race through the lens of the good news of Christ, and this gospel should inform and motivate our responses too.

Today's blog post, by Dave Martin is a helpful explainer on Critical Race Theory. "Here’s why we must view Critical Race Theory (CRT, a part of Critical Theory) with great caution. It provides a story of reality that runs counter to the Christian story. Christianity tells us that we are creatures made in God’s image, who have sinned against him, who need to be rescued through the atoning work of Jesus, and who are called to love both God and neighbor."

Today on the GBC blog, Dan Stump thinks through Romans 14 and its instructions for believers to interact lovingly with one another even when our views differ.

Cece Woloszyn writes about singleness on the blog today. This is a wonderful post with relevant insight and encouragement for us all.

In this post on the church blog, Dave Martin follows up his previous explainer post on Critical Race Theory by highlighting the dangers of this ideology. He ends with an encouraging reminder to remember our great God and rest in the gospel of Christ.

In today's post on the church blog, Michael Garland reminds us to praise the Lord for his timeless faithfulness. “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits” (Psalm 103:2).
