F.A.S.T. - Foster & Adoption Support Teams
These teams provide an opportunity to fulfill God's call for us to care for the fatherless in their distress.

"Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained by the world." James 1:27

This ministry is modeled after the support team structure that has been effective for the organization Foster the City. Each foster/adoptive family is surrounded by 4-5 individuals or families. Every support team member is willing to minister to the family 2+ times a month based on the family's needs. Examples of support include meals, transportation, babysitting, running errands, mentoring, yard work, and home repair.

Each support team is coordinated by a team lead who communicates with the foster/adoptive family and the rest of the team. There is also an advocate within the GBC family who supports all foster/adoptive families and support team members.

The purpose of this ministry is to provide an intentional and relational way for our church to help families who foster and adopt. It is one of the ways our members live into Galatians 6:2 together.

"Bear one another's burdens, and therefore fulfill the law of Christ." Galatians 2:6
